These are rated for 800 lbs. They flex a little with only 250 lbs so I'm not sure what it would do if you put 800 lbs on it. I built a 2X12" support that runs the width about in the middle of the ramp for extra support. With the extra support, I'm sure it can handle the 800 lbs with no problem. These are constructed well and easy to use, They do come with pins to pin the top of the ramp to keep it from sliding off of the steps. You have to drill into the step so the pin has a place to go. With that said, these are used for my Mother to get into my house. She really couldn't use them everywhere she goes--I don't think everyone would want you drilling into their steps.
