The Guardian Alert 911 system is a set - a base station which plugs into the phone jack - and a pendant which is worn by the user. The system can operate anywhere in and around the home - with the base station plugged into a phone jack in the central part of the home. I had hoped the 911 Guardian Phone would solve my dilemma, increased monthly expense from my present home safe alert system. It didn't!. I have two concerns:1] It's water 'resistant'; instructions say not to wear in the shower or around the neck at night. 2] It's heavy to wear around the neck and has no option to be worn on a wrist. Many purchase these items so they feel safe while bathing or being home alone at night specifically. If the unit can be made to be waterproof and small enough for wrist wear at night or all the time, it might resolve all my concerns. Until then, it's not an option for me to consider buying. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "911 Guardian Phone" are high quality item.
