I purchased this chair a week ago here on Amazon from The Care Provider. The company drop-shipped me a wheelchair from another company. I was sent an 18" wheelchair instead of the 20" I ordered. When I contacted the company through Amazon they told me that I couldn't exchange it because I had used it. Of course I had used it. IT'S A WHEELCHAIR. I had to use it, even if it wasn't the size I ordered. Was I just supposed to stay in bed for a week while the company fixed THEIR mistake? Or spend a couple of hundred to rent a different one, which I'm sure the company wouldn't have reimbursed me for?

The chair itself is cheap, but surprisingly good. You'll want to buy or make a seat cushion. Be sure to read the little instruction leaflet that may be stuffed inside the back pocket. You really do want to adjust the foot supports right away. After about six hours my knees were aching like crazy, even though the foot supports were only about one inch off from what I needed. Once adjusted, it was fine.

I spent a whole day outdoors on varying pavement surfaces with this. The smooth tires were easily wiped clean. The ride was a little rough at times, but not bad. I had an easy time on short, Berber-style carpeting inside of shops, but bogged down a bit on anything deeper. When others were pushing me, they said the chair pushed quite easily, but that the handles were very uncomfortable because they were hard, and sloped downward. I've ordered a push bar that should hopefully fix things for them. The swing-back arms are a nice help for getting under lower restaurant tables, but stick out a bit too much for crowded rooms. I'm thinking to take red ribbons to tie on them next time so that they're a bit more visible in a packed cafe.

To sum up, nice chair, bad company. Buy the Blue Streak, but buy it from a different Amazon vendor. It's well worth the difference in price.
