As I learn more about the Kevin rating on compact fluorescent lighting, I'm better understanding what type of light to expect. These bulbs which produce the 4100K, produce more of a cool, slightly bluish light, which is great for higher contrast applications, in other words, reading books, back light for computer monitor etc. I found out that the 2700K which is a 'warmer' light (similar to the incandescent bulbs)is more soothing for everyday lighting needs. So now I know which 'rating' (2700K or 4100K) of bulb to buy depending on the application it is for.
