This is the original formula using the phosphates. I am a formulation chemist and the phosphates are essential for water conditioning and soil suspension (prevents redepositing). The newer blends use polymers and other chelating agents that simple do not perform as well as sodium tripolyphosphate or hexametaphosphate etc. As such the new blends leave white films and spots and do not get the tough stuff clean nearly as well.
