Although I am eligible for most senior discounts, I don't consider myself elderly. I have been diagnosed with profound genetic hearing loss and wear hearing aids which work well. Because of that, volume is not an issue with me but I have been discouraged in the past with talking on the telephone because of lack of clarity. I feel that manufacturers have sacrificed sound quality in an attempt to add a lot of features while keeping the prices affordable. I am very pleased with the clarity of sound with this telephone. Plus the volume boost does come in handy from time to time. The only thing that didn't satisfy me is that there is no caller id on the phone. (Wasn't I just complaining about all the added features?) I have ordered a caller id box which hopefully will fix that problem. I do recommend this telephone. The volume is easy to adjust and would meet the needs of most hard of hearing and I am pleased with the clarity.
