Well first I thought that I had been sent the wrong item - Since there are no instructions, I had to "chat" with a non-amazon purveyor online to know how to adjust the height. (it involves pulling out the black 'squarish thing' halfway down the shaft, then the telescoping aspect of it is revealed - it sure had me fooled! pretty clever - but a *total* mystery without instructions)

This cane-seat has served me well, taken much abuse (I have tried to break it .. with no luck), is SO useful ... I get many comments (people wanting one) when I'm out using it.

If you have difficulty standing in place - this is a great item to have. Depending on the seat-height, you will be able to take about 50% or more of your weight off your legs. Some leg-strength is required (and a little practice)

Otherwise, this looks like a GREAT product - It feels good to sit on it, it has a "heavy" feel -- **not** that it's too heavy; (it weighs 2.75 pounds) just *quality-heavy*, as in Durable and Good Design - my *first impression: I really like this thing - for it's "look", feel, and it *seems* well quite well-made (for a Taiwanese import) ..... I wish I could go out and use it now!

Polar S625X Heart Rate Monitor Watch Review

I LOVE my Polar S625X Heart Rate Monitor... and I'm VERY picky about the design and implementation of techno gadgets. There are only three things I've thought of that it could do better.

First, the temperature sensor is on the wrist side of the watch. So, when I was running and the air temperature was about 16 degrees fahrenheit, the sensor reported 65 degrees. Since I know of no good reason for this design decision, I have to call this a silly and unfortunate design error.

Second, the accelerometor could probably very easily provide a pedometer reading, i.e., "How many steps did that run require?" It doesn't... at least as far as I can tell.

Third, the menu system appears to be inaccessible during a recording session. That is, you have to stop the recording session to look at or change file information or user information, etc.

But, other than these 3 things, I'm very impressed. (I'd be very very impressed if the pedometer and menu shortcomings mentioned above could be fixed via an EPROM upgrade via the Infra Red port.)

The Polar S625X Heart Rate Monitor is a complex tool. Plan on spending between 4 and 6 hours of concentrated study to learn to use it to its full capability.

And finally, I'd like to add that PC Coach/Biometrics, Inc. shipped on time and provided EXCELLENT technical support when I asked them questions about this HRM. I highly recommend them.

20080608 Update:
The original battery is still working! That's about 3.5 years of regular usage 2 to 5 times per week!! I'll soon have to replace it. But I'm very happy with the S625X's battery life.

There is one thing I hope the folks at Polar will do for me, however. Wouldn't it be cool if Polar would make a bathroom scale that would interface via wireless to the S625X so that the watch could gather my weight and body mass index info, too?!! ;-)

Stainless Steel Measuring Spoons in Gift Box, 72 Review

I ordered the minimum 40 of these for a bridal shower and although the measuring spoons themselves are cute, make sure you check EACH ONE as soon as you get them as the seller only allows 2 days if there are any problems. When they arrived I opened the main box and the little boxes that hold each set of measuring spoons were tightly packed together in other boxes that appeared to come from the factory. The top ones that I could see were fine, so (stupidly) I didn't check each one packed down below when I got them. 3 days before the bridal shower I started to get them ready to go in the favor bags with some other things and found that 10 of them were missing the little rings that hold the measuring spoons together. In addition, some of them were not packaged correctly- they were not secured at the bottom so they didn't look as nice as the ones that were packaged correctly and to fix the packaging takes a lot of time (it wouldn't seem like it would take a lot of time to secure some spoons to the bottom of a cardboard holder, but believe me, it does). I immediately contacted the seller about the missing rings that keep the measuring spoons together and received a call back from a lady who acted like it was my fault because I didn't check each little box and contact them within 2 days of receiving the shipment. They gave me a $5 credit and I had to go out and hunt for little rings to secure the measuring spoons. The measuring spoons themselves are good quality and very cute and I would recommend them, but be careful and check each one as soon as you get them and be prepared to spend time making them presentable to give out. The little boxes come wrapped in celophane and the bows are totally wrinkled and not presentable (certainly not like the picture)- so again, be prepared to spend some time unwrapping and either removing the bows completely (which I did) or allow time to remove, iron and re-tie each bow.

This solid Stainless Steel lock uses the principle of ice slowly melting to release the inside plunger that connects the two solid welded rings on each end. No keys are within reach and so you're there until the ice melts and the two parts come apart, allowing you to then reach the keys to your restraints. The timer will start from the moment you remove the lock from the freezer, not from the time you actually lock yourself down, so wait as long as possible before you take the it out of the freezer. We recommend you get everything set up first. For those of you into 'self bondage' this is a perfect solution to getting everything tied in place, but not being able to lock the last part so you can't get out. This new Ice Lock will let you escape to that place where you are really tied up, or locked up, and can't get out for up to 2 hours. A bondage enthusiast will think of many different ways to put this little timed lock to good use. Mr-S-Leather Stainless Steel Ice-Lock - Small - Individual Review

First of all, extremely rapid shipping! I ordered two large ice locks late on the evening of Tuesday, February 28th. The estimated delivery date was between Monday, March 5th and Thursday, March 8th. I opened my mailbox today (Friday, March 2nd) and there they were. They were nicely packaged, but i was surprised at how small the large locks are (6 & 3/8" in length and 1 & 1/2" in diameter). The instructions are extremely easy to follow. Each of the ice locks comes with a plastic stand to keep the lock upright while it's in the freezer and a neoprene "cozy" (similar to a beer/soda can cozy) to keep the lock insulated and frozen longer. I followed the instructions and put both of the locks in the freezer while i went to work. I got home, pad locked one end of the ice lock to an eye bolt, and hand cuffed my slave to the other end of the ice lock. She's been locked in place for over 35-40 minutes now and the ice has only melted enough to release about 1/2" of the "plunger" (out of a total 4") that's inserted into the "cylinder". So far I am EXTREMELY pleased with the ice locks and looking forward to coming up with new ways of locking up my pretty, little slave.
