Aircast XP Walking Brace-Large-Pneumatic Air Cell Padding Review

Wow, the Aircast is excellence in engineering! This cast increased my mobility and comfort after breaking my foot. It was a key component of my successful recovery. I highly recommend this product. I would have preferred the shorter SP cast, probably sufficient for my metatarsal fracture, but the PA insisted on the taller XP.

While I only have one competitor's Velcro monster Franken-boot to compare it to, I suspect the Aircast is best in class. The rocker on the bottom allows you to walk almost normally. The air cells in the heel give a snug custom fit, again improving your gait, and they can be adjusted if your foot swells during the day. The Aircast is light weight and the cutouts, which reduce weight, also keep your leg from over heating. It is so simple to put on, that only a few easily understood diagrams are needed and even a child could understand them. The Velcro is all very neatly arranged to stay put, and is just the right amount in the right places. It's very easy to put on and take off, so it was not a chore to remove for showers, icing my foot, or bed, which gave me a chance to exercise more muscles than just wiggling my toes to keep pretty good flexibility and shorten the muscle rehabilitation period.

When I graduated from the Aircast to shoes, I was taking careful steps, and co-workers ask me what happened. They were surprised to hear I broke my foot because they said I walked so normally with the cast, they hadn't noticed.

While I think the Aircast is awesome, there are just a couple areas that could be improved.
1) The instruction pamphlet, which comes with the cast, should include a warning about the hazards of improper walking and recommendations for the correct shoe height and techniques for level walking with the cast. Aircast should not assume that medical professionals dispensing their casts are giving instructions to patients for proper use or having a PT/OT visit for this. They're not. Literally dozens of people on elevators and buses stopped to tell me their horror stories of associated injuries, some permanent, from differing cast and shoe heights I had hip and back problems and tremendous pain, far greater than the broken foot, until I figured it out for myself. I bought a new pair of shoes that almost got me level after I pulled out the foam insole from the cast, which I didn't want to do because it is nice and cushy. I changed my walk to bend my knees more and concentrated on keeping my hips level, kind of the effect of pretending to balance a book on your head.
2) I had some problems adjusting the ankle strap and air cells in the heel area for the proper tension during walking. I liked a little give on the ankle strap area for bending my ankle a bit, but found my foot just moved forward in the cast. This is possibly a user training issue, but perhaps more thought could go into the shape of the air cells.

My thanks go to the engineers, who designed this superior and functional cast! If the company were publicly traded, I would buy stock.

Nova Zoom 22 Rolling Walker, Blue Review

The Zoom is light in weight and folds nicely including the backrest.
The basket is flexible and doesn't need to be removed before folding like those walkers with wire baskets.
There is a red lock that keeps the walker from unfolding when being transported.
There is a small pocket in the basket suitable for pens and other small items.
The brakes lock tightly, but are abrupt, making them not to useful for going down steep hills.
The brakes are a little noisy when being locked and unlocked.
The walker is made in Vietnam.
I measure the diameter of the wheels as 7.5 inches.

40 Pieces 22" Seamless Remy Tape in 100 Grams Hair Extensions #2 Chocolate Brown Review

Being a hair dresser I have to say BEST HAIR!! Absolutely love it, only problem I had was I ordered the 40 piece which makes 20 extensions, and with my really thick hair that wasn't enough so I just ordered 20 more pieces which I think will be the perfect amount. I've had extensions since I was about 16 and these are by far the best!!! Love love love, and AMAZING prices!! I've ordered other hair for clients of mine that are twice the price and they've ended up being very thin hair! These are very thick which is perfect for my thick hair! Will definitely order for my clients!

Dental Lab Marathon Micromotor Handpiece Polishing N3 35K 35000 rpm Polisher NEW Review

I was a bit skeptical about the unit because the price was so low. I have used it to create feather detail in my bird carvings and so far I have been very happy with it. The only thing I would say is has no instructions with the unit, and although the machine is pretty self explanatory, the changing of the bits was a little bit of a challenge. I went on the web and found the unit and the article showed how to change the bits. Real simple, but not obvious. Still beats 700 bucks for a carving unit that does the same thing. I will add to this review down the road as to the durability of the unit. I don't expect any issues as it seems to be well made. The unit ships from China so if you need it right away, this might be a problem as it takes a few weeks to get the unit. I emailed the manufacturer and they explained that they were back logged and the factory couldn't keep up with the orders, I got the unit a week later. I would recommend this unit if you can wait about three weeks for delivery.

MedMobile 18" Transport Folding Wheelchair with Dual Handbrakes and Drop Back Handles by MedMobile. Review

After perusing pages & pages of wheelchairs on the web, we finally looked at Amazon & found this wonderful chair. It folds up easily but is made of sturdy steel. It's comfortable to sit in, especially with a pillow added. The ride isn't as smooth as wheelchairs with larger wheels but the hand brakes make going downhill so much easier for the person pushing the chair. We were amazed at the price for all that the chair provides & will definitely use it for many years to come. The hand brakes at the wheels are easy to reach & easy to use & it fits right up to our table. We are very happy with our purchase of this wheelchair.

AETREX LYNCO RED/BLUE WOMENS ORTHOTICS Size 12 M Review

After suffering with the slow healing plantar fasciitis for 9 months, these lynco orthotics eliminated the pain for me instantly.

The custom made ($500+) orthotics from a podiatrist made things a little better, but my feet were still in pain at the end of a day of walking in the city. (I walk about 3 to 6 miles daily in New York.)

I decided to try these after a quick sizing up at a local shoe store, put them in shoes (tip: I put them on top of the existing insert on a shoe 1/2 size larger than my usual size) .. the pain went away.

In talking to the very knowledgeable foot consultant at the walking company he summed it up for me: Custom orthotics are hard/stiff and made to manage plantar fasciitis when standing, these Lynco inserts are made for walking.

Note that the walking company has an upgraded version with even more cushioning with a model number L1200 which I prefer even more.

Please try these before going the expensive route with a podiatrist.

P.S. (Does anyone want to buy about $2500 worth of custom orthotics for 10 cents on the dollar?)
